Our Val de Mièges butter cooperative is located in Nozeroy in the Jura, in the geographical area of the Comté AOP and Morbier AOP appellation. We have been making Franche-Comté churned butter for over 75 years.

The making of churn butter

Processed daily in our workshops located in Nozeroy, the churned butter from Val de Mièges meets strict manufacturing criteria guaranteeing a quality product throughout the year.
We are butter manufacturers in a very protected and regulated region in terms of dairy processing.
In fact, we are in the geographical area of the Comté AOP and Morbier AOP appellations, whose specifications are very strict.
The traceability of all our products is irreproachable from the start of the production chain. Our milk producers (dairy farms of Montbéliarde and / or Simmental cows exclusively) have obligations in feeding, milking, harvesting, ..
Then the cheese factories are also subject to these rules and these specifications.
Daily analyzes of the milk collected ensure health monitoring of the butter produced.
All of these criteria make our churned butter a high-end product.
